Music Life
Learning, Playing, Giving
Hi, I’m Max.
In Junior High, our teacher had us playing R&B and I was doing my best to lay down funky drum beats. I loved playing but was forever splitting time between school, family and “design life”. I made time to play, I just wanted more. A student for life, today, I’m happy to be pouring more energy into music.
I play Timbales, drum set, percussion and electric bass. Send me a note to play.
Here is my band, Sofrito
Playing
Hard work pays off.
The moments playing with others and sharing with an audience is both a privilege and a joy.

Learning
Life lessons keep coming
The benefits of learning go way beyond the lesson itself. The process introduces you to new experiences, places and people. Priceless.
What more can you ask for?
I play the Timbales, Percussion, Drum Set and Electric Bass.
Giving Back
Keep the arts alive
“The Arts are the first thing we have to cut” claim some school systems. “I can’t afford lessons” said by millions of adults and kids.
How do you keep music alive for everyone? Easier said than done.
Life as a musician
I’ve heard different debates about how passion is key or not in achieving your goals. For me, music life is all about passion. Or maybe it’s about love, as playing music is just that, something I love to do.
This is how I play, with passion for the music that helps me arrive at each new level. The community that brings it all together gives me the motivation to commit to the people I play with and learn from.
